5 E book trends that will change the future of publishing

Philip Ruppel, President of McGraw-Hill Professional has an article titled above in Mashable today.

Its 5 trends are:

1. Improved eBooks come and will only get better;

(2) The device war is almost over;

(3) The $9.99 eBook will last forever.

Amazon popularized the $9.99 price point for best-selling titles trade, widespread consumer acceptance of the Kindle and consumption of e-books. This caused confusion among the many consumers who just think to each e-book $9.99 or less. But the majority of titles on Amazon are offered about $9.99, especially those with unique interactive features prices. Our e-books may be low, mass market pricing think some consumers to be applied to any e-book for professional and technical publishers like McGraw-Hill. Our costs are invested in extensive product and editorial development of sophisticated and technical content; the cost of paper, printing, and a fraction of the real cost are binding. And for some very specific and technical issues, our markets are much smaller. We could not afford simply not to publish the work where it needs to be daily low, low price of $9.99 price of.

The real possibility for publishers are e-books to develop the kind of interactive features to provide the above. Our customers will demand interactive books to offer much better, more informed and rewarding experience. The experience (the cost) is often the primary driver for you.

(4) The contextual upsell will be to see a business model.

5. Publishers are becoming increasingly important.
