Here is an great article about how Google Book Search from Munsey's point of view. I recommend you to go over and read the whole thing. It is really the first thing, I seen on Google Book Search from a Publisher perspective. A snippet:
OK, Google's Bookstore is now launched December 8th or so, with sales stats. Results are promising but still a good start, at least v. B & n or Kobo, less per share than Apple. Some parts as "sold through retailers" thing, not look but so hot manage Google to sell 4 copies of third parties, which is about 4 more than I had expected.
Here is why Google and not B & N/Kobo/Sony/Apple/agency/Whatev, is the largest eBook story of the year: you take off from Amazon the strongest weapon against publishers. You can more Jeff buried us in search.
I had put title in Google, point in a directory with all their Uploader .pdfs I created for LSI CSpace and dusty take pool for a long walk over to the swimming, while it processed. Through this tedious process I've 699 books another live 150 outstanding, and can that duplicate may better support in short order, after the uploader .epub format (I thousand such title got, that I already had prepared for Kobo…, when ever the uploader .epub supported.) Google says that will happen soon, although it's been a while ago.)
The reason Google isn't that I was so flush from ad revenue from Google Book Search; It is that a book in the Google search engine, in many cases can be found where it can be on Amazon
