Merry Christmas for eBook and eReader seller - somewhat less merry for your customers

Was by all accounts this is a very funny holiday for eBook eReader manufacturer and seller, and not only at Amazon, where was the Kindle 3 best selling product of the company at all.

Kobo had fixed a very good.  Its new customer who tried his overloaded servers download eBooks or less so to activate your new Ereaders on Christmas day.

Kobo says that there is a 50 X increase in purchases of last years holiday weekend saw.

Barnes and noble also saw his server crash and burn again this Christmas.  You would think that after dealing with the same questions in the past year, b & N maybe want it this time correctly.  I downloaded an eBook on my nook color in the early afternoon on Christmas day with no noticeable delay, although the site was very slow.  On Sunday I could get by not even on the website.  Many new nook could not enable owners, your new Ereaders and eBook purchases were not displayed in your libraries.  B & N's CS Department was of course also totally overwhelmed.

This is really inexcusable especially after B & N's big last year fail.  The company is to fight and you would think that it be able, every dollar, want to collect revenue possible instead of losing sales and creating more customer dissatisfaction.

Random House says that December 25 and 26 were the two biggest ebook sale days ever.  Increase the publishing house saw eBook sales by 300 percent.

E Ink free colour display and Hanvon will use it for new eReader

Hanvon eReader first by color e-ink display

Back in August E Ink holdings Chairman Scott Liu shed the beans on an upcoming eReader from Hanvon, the E-Ink's long promised color electrophoretic display would use.  The New York Times reported yesterday, the new color eReader at fair FPD International 2010 in Tokyo morning posted by Hanvon.

Digitimes reports that Taiwanese TFT-LCD panel maker Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT)  has had some success in the ereader market using its TFT-LCD displays.  The company’s president, Lin Sheng-chang is quoted by the article as saying that probably all of the ereaders currently on the market featuring 7-inch 4:3 ratio TFT-LCD displays are using CPT panels.
